Dude, baby-sitting...is odd.
Sometimes I really like it, sometimes I hate it, sometimes it's extremely dull...Sometimes it's all I can do to keep up.
Yesterday was ok except that they had this whole mob thing going on...they kept ganging up on me.
Dana had left a list of what they were supposed to do...and I added to it to keep them busy...They didn't like that so they turned around and wouldn't do anything I said because "they didn't have to do it if it wasn't on the list". ::Smacks fist into palm::
Good thing I'm sneaky.
I finally got them to do it...but, then, later on in the day Trevor and Spencer started fighting...and wouldn't stop...so I stood both of them in the corner, and took Spencer's scooter thing away from him. He threw a fit...and then I was going to see if I could fold it up so I could stuff it in his closet....Only I couldn't figure out how so Bethany came over to help and then Spencer really threw a fit. Next thing I know he and I are having a knock out screaming fight and about that time in walks Uncle Bruce....
He looks at Spencer, who has this evil look in his eye and is still screaming at Bethany and I and then he looks at me and all I can think is, Well, shit, now what do I do.
He backed me up though...Without even hesitating so I guess it's not out of the norm for him to walk in on someone screaming at his kids....which...isn't really...surprising with Spencer.
Got home, was really tired, built a fire...got my radio half way plugged in. Yay. Hehehe.
Then Dad and I sat down to watch Minority Report, and like, 20 minutes until the end, Aric calls from Renee's house...and I have to go pick him up.
That sucked, but dad told me that he wasn't going to take the movie back today...so I could watch it later...When I get there Aric's watching Lady Hawk, which is a kickass movie but I wasn't feeling well and I had a headache so, after ten minutes of standing there trying to give Aric the hint that I wanted to leave I tell him that I would really like to go home now....He tells me that he wants to see the end...I say no, he says yes, at which point I say fine, I'll consider picking you up tomorrow and walk out the door with him sputtering.
He was mad but left with me.
Headache was never really left so I didn't go to bed until pretty late...and I had to wake up at 6 to go baby-sit again...Aric can be a help but he wasn't today...'course he was tired...but still...He's an ass. But yeah
Pipes froze over night so we came back here with the kids...Kinda....didn't do shit until later, which I feel really guilty about now...but whatever.
The kids finally got to where they were gonna start breaking things if I didn't find something for them to do and my Mom doesn't like it when they go outside alone....So I went out and finally found a heating lamp and thawed the pipe...and...voila, water.
Then I decided that I wanted to bring some wood into the house so I took off my jacket...turn around...and hear something drop...like a tin can falling and hitting wood *THUNK*....and Bethany starts screaming, so I turn around to see what happened and see Trevor on the water tower ladder looking down at Bethany with an "Oh Shit" look on his face and Bethany is jumping around holding her head.
So, I walk over there thinking that Bethany is just....being Bethany and playing it for all it's worth because she didn't start screaming immediately...
But, yeah, so I tell her to calm down and that it wasn't gonna fall off and stick my hand on top of her head and ask Trevor what happened...By that time he had climbed back down and was trying to see if she was ok and also had his hand on her head, so he went and got this old toy of Aric's....it's one of those solid lead things with points all over it...and then he looks at his hand and there's blood on it.
So, I take my hand off Bethany's head and see that there is now blood on my palm from a spot on her head about the size of a silver dollar.
I grab her hand and hot foot it over to the house because she wouldn't let me look at it there.
Right, so, somewhere between there and walking through the front door and sitting her down at the kitchen table it really started bleeding because it was all over her coat, her pants, me, and there was a trail on the floor.
When I lifted her hair away from her neck it was pouring.
Scared the crap outta me.
I've learned from Aric to ignore the blood...but Spencer and Trevor where looking really pale and all they could talk about was all the blood....and that wasn't helping Bethany so I told them to stay in the other room.
Ick. Aric wasn't a big help in that area either...he was more pale then Spencer and Trevor and he got me one wash clothe then left.
But whatever...
Finally got the blood stopped...poured some Rescue Remedy down her...but still couldn't find there she was cut because of all the hair...but...::shrugs:: Wasn't too worried about it because I think I would have been able to see it if it was really serious.
My mom called Uncle Bruce who was only 20 minutes away working and he said he would come over and check it out.
All she could really think about was not getting blood all over her new clothes and coat.
But yeah, learned a valuable lesson today...
Usually, I'm patching up boys...so... you start talking about showing off the stitches at school...or the scar or whatever and they're immediately distracted with thinking about how to one up the other guys.
First mention of stitches to Bethany and she totally freaked out. Had to calm her down all over again.
So, the way to distract Bethany is to talk about candy....
Anyway, got Bruce there and she cooperated with him and so we threw her in the bath tub so we could try to see what was up.
That was gross.
Turned out it wasn't anything too serious
They went home...need to wash everything now.
Ick
Need to go.
I'm all hungry now......
